North West France

This itinerary is a collection of some of the very important historical places in north-west France which changed the course of modern history of the world, especially Europe. We travelled by road for 5 days covering these places.

Dunkirk
Famous again, from the recent Christopher Nolan movie, Dunkirk is a town on the west coast of France, very close to the Belgian border. The small town center is filled with designer stores and cafes.

Cap Blanc Nez
One of the most important view points during World War II. From this point, England can be seen even without a telescope!

Etreat
This is a must stop over on the way south from Dunkirk. Looking at the beautiful rock formation in Atlantic on a bright day is a bliss!

Omaha beach
This was the heart of our travel itinerary. The beach which saw the fierce battle on the D-day, some 70 years ago, has lot of stories to tell. This place will definitely bring back the memories of all those World war II stories and video games.

Le Mont Saint-Michel
This lovely piece of an island, started to be inhabited as a place of worship, is now a town with a lane for shops and residences each, decorated with a stupendous cathedral emanating from the center.
